Located on the waterfront in Ballard, Washington, The Elks Lodge #827 is all about charity, brotherly love and our community - but most importantly having fun! We are a young and growing lodge with events that are so fun you cant help but get involved in something, anything, that is going on at the lodge.

Unlike when your grandfather took you to the lodge back in the day the Elks now actively promotes women not only as members but as officers and leaders in the order. Many of our events have evolved as well, yes, we still have Bingo (which is a blast btw) but we have Trivia nights, Karaoke nights, fishing derbies, cold water plunges, SUP races, Car shows, Costume parties, Bacon-Offs, Frock Swaps and more to make it fun to be involved in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, of the USA - while at the same time getting involved in your community.

Our lodge has a Boy Scout troop, #827, and they are working on creating a Cub Scout troop. We are also building a Girl Scout troop, #40827, and have a Brownie group ready to go as we build towards our goal of having a large and active community youth involvement at our lodge. We are one of a few lodges that still give out scholarships to our local students ($1500 as of 2015) setting them up on the road to win at the state and national level with the ultimate goal of paying for their college tuition. We are a large supporter of the Ballard Food Bank and everything they represent along with doing bike and backpack giveaways for the children of our community. The Ballard Elks is the place you want to be, the organization you want to be part of.

The Ballard Elks Lodge 827 is part of the larger Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks organization, founded in 1868 “to promote and practice the four cardinal virtues of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its members; to quicken the spirit of American Patriotism and cultivate good fellowship.” We are solidly situated in the Ballard community of Seattle, Washington and use our location and strength of membership to further the goals of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.

Our Mission: The mission of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the U.S.A. is: To inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its Members; to quicken the spirit of American patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization, and to provide for its government, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America will serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks Care and Elks Share.
